The School Song

Forty years on when we think of times olden

Memory will picture our girls hood’s bright years

Forty years on in the dim distant golden,

Laughter still ringing forgotten the tears,

Smiling again as the outline grows bolder,

Going once more through our work and our fun,

Visions will leave us, though forty years older,

Proud to the last of our school won,

Chorus : Follow on! Follow on! Follow on! Follow on!

Working hard now with book and with pen,

And thus earning the right to rest then,

Follow on ! Follow on!

Meeting with zest our opponents at Netball,

Those were great matchers we played n the pitch;

Dancing and games and debates in the School hall,

If but our life could be once more so rich!

Greeting the goals scored with cheers that rang loudly

Watching the passing with joy or with fears;

These be the memories that we’ll recall proudly,

As we look back through the dim distant years,

Follow on ! Follow on!

Forty years on when afar and asunder

Parted are those who are singing today,

When we look back and forgetfully wonder

What we were like in our work and our play;

then, it may be ,there will often come o’er us.

Glimpses of notes like the catch of a song;

Visions of girlhood shall float them along,

Echoes of Dream land shall bear them along,

Follow on ! Follow on!
